2024-2025
Consortium Commission

The Project

A consortium of liberal religious communities will work with UU composer Paul Winchester to commission a new choral piece (and possibly more!) specifically suited to a particular theme of liberal religious worship. The piece or pieces will be delivered in time for performance in the 2024-2025 program year.

Voicings

The default voicing for the consortium piece (or pieces!) will be SATB with piano accompaniment, but alternate versions will be made available for both SAB and two-part voicings.

The Themes

They’ll be drawn from Soul Matters themes (although any church can sign up; you don’t have to be a Soul Matters church to participate!) and include wonderful topics such as Presence, Trust, Joy, and Deep Listening. Consortium members will have the opportunity to vote on which theme the commission will draw upon.

Buy-in and Benefits

Buy-in to the consortium only costs $150 and for that price you gain access
to the consortium piece along with
the exclusive performance rights
and printing licenses. PLUS, if the consortium reaches enough members,
a second or even a third piece could be added, giving a lot more bang for the proverbial buck!

Signing Up

Consortium signups will close in early August in order to get you your piece(s) in a timely fashion for programming and performance. You can click on
